Our Annual Services
Throughout the year, many local families already struggling with poverty face added hardships. During these challenging times, Crossover Outreach steps in to make a meaningful difference—especially for children who go without through no fault of their own.
We are committed to providing extra support and relief when it’s needed most, offering assistance that goes beyond the basics. Through these efforts, we strive to share the love of Christ, restore hope, and help rebuild lives, ensuring that no family feels alone in their time of need.

Back to School
|
We believe every child deserves to start the school year with confidence. That’s why, each year, we provide a minimum of 100 (oftentimes it's 200+) children with everything they need to feel prepared and excited for the year ahead.
Each child receives: ✅ Two brand-new outfits (including shirts, pants, socks, and underwear) ✅ A new pair of shoes ✅ A backpack filled with school supplies Our goal is simple: to help as many children as possible walk into school feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to learn! This program is open to children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade in Fall 2025 Together, we can ensure that no child starts the school year feeling left behind! *Check back for updates and more details on registration!

CHARACTER BUILDING Camp
CALL US TO SPONSOR A CAMPER TODAY! |
Each summer, Crossover Outreach gives up to 40 children the opportunity to experience the joy of a weeklong adventure up north at summer camp! Our goal is to provide a fun, faith-filled experience where children can grow in their Christian values while enjoying exciting activities like swimming, singing, crafts, games, and making lifelong friendships.
Beyond the fun, sleep-away camp fosters independence, confidence, and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment. For many of these children, this is a rare opportunity to explore the outdoors, build new skills, and create memories that will last a lifetime! Click here to see our Camp Flyer with Details! Mobile Food Pantries
|
Mobile food giveaways are a vital part of Crossover Outreach’s mission, helping us reach those who may struggle with transportation barriers and limited access to nutritious food. By partnering with local churches and community organizations, we sponsor Mobile Food Pantries throughout the year, bringing essential groceries directly to neighborhoods classified as food deserts—areas without adequate access to grocery stores.
Each event is a blessing, allowing us to serve around 500 individuals, ensuring families receive the nourishment they need. These mobile pantries are more than just food distribution—they are a lifeline of hope and support for those facing food insecurity in our community. |
WARM WINTER COATS FOR KIDS
For many families, purchasing warm winter gear is an impossible financial burden. With the rising costs of food, housing, and other necessities, something as simple as a new coat or a pair of boots can make a world of difference. No child should have to walk to school in the freezing cold without proper protection, and through this program, we are making sure they don’t have to.
Starting November 1st, every child in need of a warm winter coat can receive one free of charge—while supplies last! Each year, over 400 children receive brand-new coats through Crossover Outreach, ensuring they stay warm during Michigan’s harsh winter months. But that’s not all! Each child also receives hats, mittens or gloves, a scarf, and, when available, warm winter boots to keep them cozy from head to toe! Because no child should have to face winter without proper warmth, we are committed to making sure as many little ones as possible are bundled up and protected from the cold. |
Thanksgiving
Since 2009, Crossover Outreach has helped ensure that at least 100 families and 20 senior citizens or adults with special needs can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal together. We provide all the classic holiday fixings, along with a voucher to purchase a turkey, allowing families to gather around the table and celebrate the season with warmth, dignity, and joy.
For many, the holiday season can be a time of stress and hardship, especially for those struggling to make ends meet. No family should have to choose between paying bills and putting a holiday meal on the table. By offering this program, we help ease that burden, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their circumstances—can experience the comfort, tradition, and togetherness that Thanksgiving brings. Because at the heart of the holidays is community, kindness, and the simple joy of sharing a meal with loved ones. Special Thanks to our supporting churches and our generous sponsors: |
Christmas at Crossover
At Crossover Outreach, Christmas magic starts in July—that’s when we begin wrapping presents, and we don’t stop until Christmas!
For families struggling just to put food on the table, the holiday season can be especially heartbreaking. With your support, we uplift 100 families each year by providing gifts for every member of the household, ensuring that Christmas remains a time of joy, love, and celebration, rather than stress and disappointment. For children in these families, financial hardships can make the holidays feel different from those of their peers—leaving them feeling left out, discouraged, or even questioning their self-worth. By helping parents provide gifts, we restore a sense of normalcy, excitement, and wonder to Christmas morning, allowing kids to experience the same joy and magic as their classmates and friends. Because every child deserves to feel special, loved, and remembered—especially at Christmas. |

Our Additional Programming
Though our focus is on providing free emergency food, clothing and more to those struggling to make ends meet, we collaborate with other area agencies in the attempt to prevent our services from being needed in the future. What a blessing it would be to put ourselves out of business because everyone had enough to eat, clothing to wear, skills to obtain and maintain their jobs, etc. To this end, we are working on the following programs:
Cooking Classes
In collaboration with the MSU Extension, we provide the opportunity for our clients to learn food safety, nutritional information, shopping/budgeting and other techniques to prepare healthier meals for their families and possibly develop skills useful for obtaining meaningful work in the food service industry. Families also receive small items each week to help insure success in implementing the lessons learned in class!
At the end of the six weeks, students receive a certificate from MSU Extension and a cooking implement to help remove barriers to their success from Crossover. |
